Vacation Part 2 - Disney Day 1

After we got to Anaheim, we spent the next 3 days at Disneyland. It was a blast, and one of my favorite parts of the trip! Since we were spending so many days there, we were able to take the kids home in the afternoon to rest if they needed it, and return refreshed and ready for more later. One of the best parts was meeting all the characters. The kids loved it! They had autograph books for everyone to sign. MK wasn't too sure of anyone other than princesses, but she would let them sign her book and she would pose for a pic if we were holding her.

Waiting at the bus stop. About to burst with excitement!

First view of Disneyland...Taking it all in.

Pretty Pleased!

We followed one of the tour guide books I had on Disney and it was great! It allowed us to walk right onto rides, including our first ride, Dumbo! That ride usually has an hour and a half wait time.

This is Ya Ya's favorite ride. She has been looking forward to this for a long time!

Dumbo's Train.

It rained a little bit when we were first there. It made it so cool and kept crowds down. It was great. Here we are riding It's A Small World.

After some rides, we went to Toon Town to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto's houses. Here is the big moment: Meeting Mickey!!

MK did not want a hug.

She could be coaxed to get close if someone was holding her. Pluto...

Goofy

She loved Minnie but still didn't want to give her a hug.

The character's houses were so cool. This is Minnie's bed.

MK loved playing in her kitchen.

Donald and Daisy's Boathouse.

Jess and her friend and my Aunt joined us for the first day.

Toon Town! That's Mickey's house in the background.

Sleeping Beauty's Castle!

Winnie the Pooh ride.

Eeyore

Tigger

After lunch we crossed to California Adventure where we saw Mike, Sully, Boo, and other fun characters.

We went to the Playhouse Disney Jr. Show which our kids loved! It was great fun and nice and cool in there!

Looking for pirates.

MK loved getting up and dancing!

Setting up for the parade. It was amazing and the kids loved it! If you haven't seen a Disney parade, there is not much you can do to describe it. The music, dancing, costumes, float, etc. are crazy! Since we were on the front, a bunch of the characters would come up to the kids during the parade, much to MK's horror. Lol! For some of the scarier characters, I would have to stand in front of MK so they wouldn't bother her.

The Genie from Aladdin.

Aladdin

Ariel

Princesses!

Jungle Book and Lion King characters.

The dances they could do on stilts were crazy!

Peter Pan and Captain Hook

Chimney Sweeps

Mary Poppins

The kids picked out their Mickey ears and we got them embroidered.

That night we ate at the Cheesecake Factory near our hotel. This was Bryan's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake.

I tried a new flavor and loved it! Pineapple Upside Down Cheesecake!
After dinner my Dad and I went back into the park while Bryan went to bed with the kids. It was so fun to enjoy many rides and things with my Dad that he hadn't done in years.

Some Videos to enjoy:
Playhouse Disney Jr. Show

Here are some from the parade. We got some shots of them interacting with the kids. MK is freaking out in some of them! Haha! Notice how Captain Hook pretends to get mad in one, and Cinderella blows Kaden a kiss and waves to him. He felt pretty special. :)
