Part 1 - Trip to Austin

We had a wonderful trip this weekend. It seems impossible that it has come and gone already. Saturday morning we got up early and drug the kids out of bed and loaded them in the car. The selling point was the donuts that we promised them. After we got our donuts, everyone was good to go. We headed to Austin and got there in time for lunch with my parents and Jeff. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Mmmmmm!!

So excited to hold her own drink!

Chillin' in Granddad's lap.

My bro and me.

White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut...Yes, it was good!

Kade was hopping laps.

She definitely liked the cheesecake!

After lunch we went back to the hotel so that MK could take a nap. It is always nice to just hang out with my family! The weather was perfect. It really felt like Fall so it was nice and cozy indoors. After MK had her nap, we headed out to Bastrop to spend some time with more family. My Dad's cousins and Uncle live out that way, and they had invited us out for some Bar-b-que. We met up with Vicki (Dad's cousin) and her husband Dave, Ronda (Vicki's sister and Dad's cousin) and her husband Kim, and Victor (my Dad's Uncle). Ronda's kids were supposed to come too, but they were getting over the flu. Poor things! We were at Ronda and Kim's house and they raise alpacas and other animals that the kids were excited to see. It was a wonderful evening of good food and conversation. The kids also had a fabulous time feeding the alpacas and playing with the dogs. MK is still very timid around animals, but I think she might grow out of it as she gets older.

This crazy girl was climbing up the fence before we were even over there to keep her from falling!

Getting a better look like his sister!

Feeding the Alpacas.

Doesn't this just crack you up?

Kaden really loved feeding the animals.

He even got to feed them special treats.

MK kept a very safe distance.

Horsie ridin'

Playing with "cousin" Cole's toys.

Mom, Vicki, Dad, and MK

Dave and Kim

MK wanted mommy to try on the hat!

Dad and Uncle Victor (I believe he is 93 or 94)

The thief on the porch stealing the kitty's food!

Brave enough to look for the dog with Uncle Jeff around

Still wary...

Now there is excitement!

She still wouldn't touch them though.

Kaden loves his Uncle Jeff!

We ended the night back at the hotel to try and get some good rest before our big Day Out With Thomas on Sunday. It was so cute to see the kids sleeping in a big bed together. They looked so big by themselves! We had a wonderful time in Austin. Too bad it had to be so short!

I will post pics and stories from our Day Out With Thomas tomorrow. I am tired and ready for bed soon!
