Busy Days

Today has been a busy day but in a good way. In fact, our past few weeks have been super busy. I have so many thoughts swirling around in my brain right now I don't even know how to organize them. Things have been hard with Kade lately. He has been pushing us to the limits and has been very defiant. It breaks my heart, because I know he is such a sweet boy and I don't understand why he wants to act this way. It often makes me feel like I am a bad mother or have failed him in some way. I understand that he is 2, but I don't think that is an excuse for everything. I have been praying for a lot of patience as well as ideas of what I can do to help. I have begged God for answers and for guidance. One thing I have come up with is that I need to help him burn off more energy during the day. If I can give him something to focus on and distract him, he seems to act better. We have been doing lots of activities and I have also been trying get him out of the house more. Today we went to my old college campus and went for a walk. We looked at trees, birds, leaves, bicycles and so much more! It was fun and Kade was a totally different kid than he has been lately. He was sweet, obedient, and I really enjoyed watching the excitement in his eyes! He was thrilled to discover new things and just be outside. I gave him the freedom that he apparently craves. Having only one car can make getting out difficult, and the hot weather is also a problem, so I really look forward to the fall when we can spend a lot more time outside!

Our craft project from yesterday.

He was so excited because he got to use glue!

He loves to line things up and make patterns. He had some sort of system going with the crayons. I have no idea what he was doing but he was very particular about it.

Coloring a Get Well card for Granddad.

MK getting in on the action!

Mary-Kate has also been a little fussy lately since she cut her two bottom teeth. I feel bad for her. I also can't believe how quickly she is growing up. She doesn't even look like a newborn to me anymore. She is 3.5 months old and is wearing 6 month clothes. Tonight I weighed myself and then weighed her with me to figure out her weight. She was a whopping 17 lbs! We are going back and forth between 2 and 3 diapers because of her size, but I still didn't expect her to weigh that much. I took some pics tonight of some barrettes I made her. Her hair is not very long so they didn't stay in very well but they looked cute for a couple of pictures! Lol!

Today has also been good because God has answered some major prayer requests that we have had. He is so good to us, even when there is no reason for him to give us these blessings. It's funny to me how He has a way of taking those impossible weeks and giving you things beyond what you could even imagine. Praise God for His goodness!! I will update more about these things later. It's pretty late and I need to try and get some sleep!
