We bought Kaden his first kid's Bible this week. We have been enjoying reading the Bible stories to him in the evenings. He actually sits and listens and repeats after the things we say. It brings me such joy to teach him and talk about things. The Bible we got it is called My First Message and it's written by Eugene Peterson, who wrote The Message for adults. (A modern paraphrase of the Bible) I love how each chapter has the scripture written out at the top so you know just where you are reading from. It is so cool to hear Kade ask to read out of his Bible! Last Sunday, right before we left for church, we had our Bibles laying on the bed. Kaden saw them and said, "Momma Bible, Daddy Bible...I get my Bible..." He then headed off to the playroom and brought back a book of poetry. He knew it was big and thick and full of words just like our Bibles were. I thought that was cute. We had been talking about getting him a toddler Bible to start reading from, and that inspired us. When we saw this one, we knew it would be perfect. He may not be totally ready to sit and listen for long periods of time, but the short chapters have been great so far. There are thought provoking questions about the story in the pictures to help conversation, and at the end of the chapter they have a prayer and application section. It lists some things to pray for and has some activities you can do to help them learn. We then get to pray together about what we read. I love it! Here are some pics of Kade enjoying his Bible for the first time the other night. Ignore the mess and lack of clothes. It was right after dinner! Lol!
Very excited about his Bible!

Look at his little tongue sticking out! Hehe

Showing us how the birds fly in the air.
(We were talking about God's creation in Genesis.)

That is awesome. We have a family Bible study with the kids each night too. It's exciting to me to see kids so excited about wanting to learn about Jesus. Great job! Maybe he'll be a preacher one day. :P
How cute!! He's so excited :) Cami has a little Bible, but it's REALLY short.
